This piece began as a sketch of the most beautiful flowers of Renishaw Hall's 'Camellia Walk' in their superb Italianate gardens. Now a watercolour painting, inspired by those lush, full blooms and soft form of pink camellias.
I’ve used layered washes to capture the depth of their rose-pink petals, alongside fresh, vibrant greens for the foliage and warm earthy tones for the branches — all keeping that lovely, light transparency that makes watercolour so special.
